Dennis Union Church is an Open and Affirming Congregation – All are welcome!

Holidays and Special Services

Celebrations of holidays and special services are beloved traditions at Dennis Union Church.  Some of our annual special events have included:

Blessing of the Animals

Held on the Dennis Town Green in front of the church service  — this special blessing time offers folks with pets of all sizes from Dennis and the surrounding communities an opportunity for appreciation of their animal friends.

Christmas

Advent and Christmas feature a variety of worship services, including Christmas Eve worship at 4pm with a focus on children and a quieter candlelight service at 7:30 pm.

Holy Week / Easter

Beginning with an Ash Wednesday evening service, our worship services focus on the Lenten journey leading to our Holy Week and Maundy Thursday service and Good Friday silent meditation.

Easter morning worship begins at sunrise, followed by celebratory Easter worship at DUC.  Please check the Calendar for times.

Weddings

The congregation of Dennis Union Church would be delighted to host your wedding here.  The sanctuary comes with our blessings.

We are an Open and Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ.  In accordance with our Open and Affirming Covenant, our sanctuary is open for weddings to all persons, regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability or economic circumstance.

Requests for a wedding service should be made to the Pastor.  Use of the sanctuary is cleared by the Board of Deacons — an advance notice of six months is recommended to ensure the desired date is available.  Your reservation is confirmed upon receipt of your non-refundable deposit.

Funerals

The congregation of Dennis Union Church is pleased to make our sanctuary and staff available to you and your family during this time of sadness.  You do not have to be a member of Dennis Union Church to hold a funeral or memorial service in the sanctuary.
