CHILDREN AND YOUTH NEWS

Summer Sunday School

There is a marvelous resource -  picturebooktheology.com – that I peruse quite a lot!  This summer, I am borrowing her outline for Theological Statements for Young Children.  Statements such as, “You are a one-of-a-kind, precious child of God”, “Together, we can do even more wonderful things”, or “God/Jesus loves you ,and wants you to love yourself, and others” are examples of the dozen themes we are exploring this summer. I have expanded her outline to include a prayer, bible passage, art activities and/or games.  There is something for all ages to engage in. As we do year-round, we begin in the Sanctuary for Worship and then exit for class after A Word for the Young.  The exception is Communion, which we have on the first Sunday of every month, when the children go to class right away and then join their families after the sermon.

Jazz Sunday, July 29

There will not be a Sunday School class this Sunday, so that we might all enjoy the worship and festivities.

Youth Fellowship

We have a summer break from meetings and overnights in July and August. BUT, I am available Sunday mornings for brunch/lunch after worship.  I was assured by all the kids attending the last overnight that they would accept the offer!  Just ask!
